Get to know the German metal project, Sati666!

Hello, Sati! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. Would you mind introducing your band to our readers?

Hello Valentine! First, a big thank you for giving me the chance to do this interview.

“Sati” is no real band because I do it all alone with the help of my producer called Danny Seith of Pariah Music Studios. He is an awesome producer and sick guitar player that has lots of experience in the music business. This guy even played as an opener for “Six Feet Under” with one of his old bands called “IAMENEMY”. How sick is this!!! Check out “IAMENEMY” too on YouTube if you would like to, it’s very good! His band has a similar style as my project “Sati” so we worked together perfectly.

How would you describe the German metal scene?

I am not the typical scene guy and I never really enjoyed going to true underground metal stuff (except drunk) because the music or skill of the bands playing together totally sucks in 90% of all cases. Even going to bigger concerts does not give me the feeling of enjoying the German metal scene a lot. Sure, there are some persons that are very cool which you can have a great time together but in most cases the typical metal scene person thinks he is more elite than the rest.

I can’t stand this bullshit even drunk as fuck so I don’t go to metal concerts a lot. Very ironically because everyone in Germany talks about a peaceful and friendly metal scene. Biggest myth in my opinion! Don’t even think about telling anyone that you like other music too or you will have a shit evening full of conflicts. But I win these conflicts anyway so I always find a way to have my fun.

You’ve released your EP “Immolation” back in October. Would you mind introducing this release to our readers? What’s the story behind it?

I always dreamed of doing a technical melodic death metal tape in style of Finnish melodic death metal bands like Norther or Children of Bodom so I searched for the best producer you could find in 150 kilometers and ended up in Danny’s studio. My biggest aim always was and still is to get a damn record deal that gives me the chance to have some serious promotion or even money to pay the expensive productions but yeah like I already said. Nobody gives a shit about my music so this may stay a dream forever.

I think the only way to get a record deal is to tour a lot but as long as I stay alone this would not work, I think. And I prefer staying alone when creating my own music after my expectations because other persons are no big help in most cases. Except Danny he is the best!

How’s your usual writing and recording process?

It’s very simple! When I feel good playing guitar I find lots of guitar riffs and licks I really enjoy playing and listening to and yeah, then I decide that they will become a full song. After this I drive to Danny, show him my stuff and he tells me what is good and what not. Then we work together to write the perfect song and its finished! Finding lyrics is also really easy for me. I don’t care a lot about the meaning of metal lyrics so I write senseless stuff out of my fantasy that only has to rhyme well.

Can we talk about the artwork of your EP?

It is nothing special. I took a picture without copyright of a widowburning in India (Sati = Indian for widowburnings) and used my badly Photoshop skills to get a cover a bit similar to Children of Bodoms “Something Wild” album. I did this because I didn’t want to pay a lot for a good cover what was the right decision because I think it’s good. Do it yourself my friends!

The last words are for you. If you have any other projects in the making, here’s your chance to talk about it!

Please tell me metalheads all over the world: Would you listen to a dude that does play lead-guitar and screams live all alone with playback instruments (drums, bass, rhythm-guitar) in the background or is this a bad idea? I can’t stand playing with other people live together because you can trust no one doing a good job. I still play live in jam sessions but I wanted to know from you guys: Would you listen to a metal act with only one person plus instrumental playback? You would help me a lot with this!

Thank you for the interview and your time Valentine! Greetings to all fans and metalheads all over the world! Cheers.

Thanks for your time!
