Rockers ONLAP talk about their cover of Linkin Park’s single, “Numb”!

French alternative rockers ONLAP have recently unveiled their cover of Linkin Park’s single, “Numb”. The band is now here to give us further details on this new cover. Check out what they had to say below!

ONLAP

Hello, ONLAP! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. Would you mind introducing your band to our readers?
Hi!! And thank you Valentine for your time and interest ? We are a french alternative rock created in 2006, and based around Paris and now Nantes & Nice.

How would you describe the French alternative rock / hard rock scene?
I would say, and that will be the topic of a future song, the French rock/metal scene is globally amazing, one of the best in the world. The French scene cover all the styles, particularly metal. There is a real sound from France I think, and we love all those bands and we follow almost everything coming from France.

You just revealed your cover of Linkin Park’s single “Numb”. Was it important for you to pay tribute to this band and Chester?
Thank you for this question. Yes, as we told to our fans on the socials’, we’ve been dreaming of covering linkin park for so many years. It’s an honor for us to find the strength today to do it. And we are proud of the song we released. We got so much love and support that we absolutely don’t regret to have taken the chance to make our Numb version. Of course, Linkin Park is one of the best alternative bands ever for us. We miss Chester so much.

Why did you pick this song in particular?
I don’t know actually, ‘cause we are so fan of Linkin Park that it could have been almost any song of LP ahah. I guess Numb is one of the songs that transmits lots of emotion, and a bit of sadness, so it was the good song for us. And of course the song is very famous, and we wanted a wide and mainstream tribute to Linkin Park. This is something we wanted to share!

Can we expect new cover in the near future or do you guys plan on focusing on your own compositions?
Yes absolutely, it was the first “electric cover”, after the acoustic version of Castle on the hill by Ed Sheeran. I’m sure we will do that again now that we crossed our main fear ahah.

The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance!
Love you Linkin Park, love you Chest.
