The Parisian melodic metalcore band Ghost Anthem has recently revealed a new single, “Thorns”.
“Working on this EP has helped us to define a clear creative direction”, says Romain, guitarist and composer. The quintet’s ambition is to build “modern, subtle and precise instrument tracks with meaningful and touching lyrics”, about inward-looking themes such as melancholy, doubt or courage.
“Thorns is a song about dealing with our flaws and contradictions, in a society that worships perfection. The pursuit of perfection and compromise becomes a danger when you start lying to yourself”, explains the singer. The song ends with an explosive bridge which symbolizes this unbearable pressure.
The band is now focusing on the finalization of their eponymous EP, with a desire to come back live in the end of year.
