The pioneer of oriental metal, Orphaned Land is preparing the release of their new album “Unsung prophets & dead messiah” which will be released on January 26th, 2018 at Century Media Records. To this end, they release their single “Like Orpheus” : a single with a guest vocals by Hansi Kürsch, singer of Blind Guardian.
One of the very interesting facts about this single is that it’s a true story that the band describes as follows :
“At one point you can see a book that appears. This book is called: “Satanists in Egypt” and it tells the story of some metal heads, symbols and music that the author considers to be as Satanism.
Orphaned Land is in that book too. There is a scan of an Orphaned Land song and it’s told that a fan of the band, in which the police found our music at his home, was thrown to jail for 6 months, accused of blasphemy.
The hero in the video is reading the book, trying to understand what is wrong about loving of metal as it is not contradicting her way of living in any way.
Enjoy ‘Like Orpheus’ and the video clip, and support metal heads from the Middle East!”
Jens Bogren, known for producing bands like katatonia, bloodbath, soilwork, opeth…, produced this album.
“Unsung¨Prophets & Dead Messiahs” contain other guest with Hansi Kürsch but also with Steve Hackett (Blind guardian) and Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates).
