Our weekly discoveries – July 13th 2022

We got the opportunity to discover some pretty amazing bands and artists lately. You’ll find below a little recap of the songs that have caught our attention this week!

Distrolution - weekly discoveries

Eaten By Sharks – “Shallow Water”

Eaten By Sharks will soon reveal their new album “Eradication”, produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy). Initially, they were supposed to record in 2020, but those plans were dashed due to the pandemic. They are now ready to take listeners by storm with the follow-up to their 2013 debut by starting with the single “Shallow Water”.

Letters From Abel – “Perfect Disaster”

Detroit, Mi rockers Letters From Abel have recently revealed their new single, titled “Perfect Disaster”. The band commented on their FB page: “This new single opens up a whole new chapter for LFA. We have so much big stuff planned and we can’t wait to share it with you.

The 69 Eyes – “Call Me Snake”

“Call Me Snake” is the “dark” hit of the summer, mixing an 80s gothic vibe with hard rock guitars. Imagine the Stooges encountering early 90s horror films, and a song that shines with its simplicity, while offering a crazy twist at every corner!

Dropkick Murphys – “Two 6’s Upside Down”

A few days after announcing the release of their new album “This Machine Still Kills Fascists”, available September 30th via Dummy Luck/[PIAS], the legendary Boston band, Dropkick Murphys, is proud to unveil the first single titled “Two 6’s Upside Down”!

Discover A Fire – “Negative”

Norfolk, UK’s melodic punk rockers Discover A Fire have released a ripping new single, titled “Negative”, along with a music video. The band is currently demoing new tracks for a new release later in 2022.

Vision Swords – “Twisting Alley”

The song “Twisting Alley” is taken from Vision Swords’ debut album, “Next Awakening” released on July 8th 2022 on major streaming platforms!

Zedmanest – “Roam Alone”

“Roam Alone” tells the story of an argument between a musician and his life partner. The subject of this dispute, however banal and benign, arouses anger in the protagonist who finds its roots in the dream of a whole life. A much deeper malaise shared by many musicians: that of recognition and success.

Within Temptation – “Don’t Pray For Me”

Within Temptation are back with a new single, titled “Don’t Pray For Me”. The band comments: “We live in a world where cultures and beliefs are melting together, while at the same time, acts of intolerance and injustice are on the increase. Societal problems and the rapid increase in -beliefs have spawned fear, fragmentation and disconnection. Don’t Pray For Me’ strives not to impose one’s own beliefs and fears on others and demonstrates acceptance of one’s own journey.”

We’ll be back next week with new discoveries! Stay tuned!
