The members of Crossed Keys have a long history of playing in hardcore and punk bands! All members come from different bands such as Off Minor, Step Ahead or Kill The Man Who Questions. Crossed Keys create a sanguine pop sound that has been cultured in a stew of basement shows and record shops.
Crossed Keys fuse their musical backgrounds and influences together to create a sound that is as mature as it is fun. In their debut EP, Philadelphia’s Crossed Keys offer up six tracks that make clear how important the people in their lives are in terms of support and inspiration.
The EP was recorded by Steve Roche at Permanent Hearing Damage in the Summer of 2017 and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering (Iron Chic, Unsane). It features guest vocals from friends Dave Hause and Marilyn McCauley (Jackie Thousand).
Also, my favorite track off of this EP would definitely be ‘Eastbound to Frankford‘.
“This is a song about our friend OB. He has been supporting bands in the Philly/NJ/NY area since before the dawn of time. His Instagram account (@Eastbound2Fkd) is a compendium of awesome show flyers and connected stories. The song is a thank you to everyone who comes out and supports us, despite growing old with competing responsibilities. We named our EP after the chorus in this song, “I’m Just Happy That You’re Here”. No matter what happens in the world around us, the best thing in life is that we’re all together“, reveals Andrew.
