The Muffin Heads is a 3 piece rock/grunge/punk sandwich hailing from Harlow, Essex. The band is made up of Bex (vocals / bass), Pete (backing vocals / guitar) and Nick (drums).
The Muffin Heads are here to provide hard riffs and growling honest vocals.
The band takes its influences from Iggy Pop, L7, Sex Pistols, Mudhoney and Nirvana. The Muffin Heads like to think they might sit somewhere in between. The band just released a music video for single ‘Bang Says the Gun‘, that you can watch below!
“Bang Says The Gun is the first and only single to be released from our upcoming EP – Don’t Give The People What They Want (released 19th January 2018). Although it is the last track to feature on the EP, it’s actually the first song we ever wrote back when we formed in late 2015.
The song was originally written on an acoustic guitar but quickly became a lot more dirty – as most of our songs seem to do. It was a natural fit on the EP with three comparably newer songs and is a crowd favourite when we play it live. Bang Says The Gun represents two things to us. Firstly, the sexy turmoil of pleasure/pain. Secondly, the triumph of giving in and saying ‘fuck it, let’s do this’. The lyrics were written on a hazy weekend in Amsterdam after all!
For the music video, we collaborated again with Director/Producer Matt Flack. We worked with him for our first single ‘Queen Bitch’. We wanted to do something completely different to our first music video but still keep the rawness intact.”
Bang Says The Gun is available now on all digital platforms. The band’s new EP ‘Don’t Give The People What They Want‘ is also available for pre-order!
