52 Blue is the solo-project of Joey Vanzetti who is based in Shropshire, UK. Joey is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer. He indeed writes and produces every song on his records.
52 Blue indeed takes influence from bands such as Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Motion City Soundtrack or The Used. The band indeed composes interesting pop punk and alternative tunes, with a hint of darkness and irony. Pop punk for the cynics and dreamers.
A few weeks ago, 52 Blue dropped debut single ‘Real Talk‘, along with a music video that you can watch below!
“Real Talk is indeed an honest song. I wanted to capture my own self doubt in 3 and a half minutes of music. The whole theme of the song and the video is about that constant battle you have with yourself and how self doubt can act as a lid on creativity.
I recorded everything myself on the track (as I always do for any song I create) and worked with Director/Producer Tom Griffiths on the video. As it was my debut video, I felt it important to find the right person to work with. I also didn’t want to play it safe and just keep it to performance shots in one location!
I think we managed to capture the tone of the song really well. We indeed ended up with a fun and interesting music video with ghosts, balloons, baseball bats and a shit tonne of fake blood. It’s awesome,” explains Joey.
