Movement At Night is a one-man band that was founded in 2018 by Clément Demongeot, a songwriter from Nice (France). After a debut EP “Sleep On It” released in 2021, Movement At Night is proud to reveal his new single, “Way Out” and we have the honor of premiering it on Distrolution. This song is taken from his upcoming debut album “Failed By Choice”, scheduled for September!
On this new release, Clément comments: “Way out is one of the first songs I composed for the upcoming album. The song addresses mental health and depression.
It’s about accepting the loss of a loved one when they have chosen to leave.
Putting oneself in their shoes, just for a moment, understanding why they’ve taken such a radical path. Asking ‘Why?’ sometimes seems useless, off-topic. Depression is an illness – it strikes, that’s it. You have to know how to live with it.
As far as I’m concerned, I find it easier to address themes like this with more dynamic and rousing instrumentals. In the same vein, we made a music video based on atmospheres that inspire me and make me feel good such as Spielberg’s films from the early ‘90s.”
