The Shapers delectably embrace the garage rock vibes of The Hives and Nirvana, merged with the early urgent delivery of Green Day and SUM 41. Born in 2009, this power trio have certainly undertaken the punk rock DIY ethos.
Over the years, the band had the chance to play a series of highly successful shows across the world: China, Indonesia, France, UK, North America etc. The Shapers have indeed shared the stage with famous bands such as NOFX, Pennywise, Face to Face, The Flatliners, Silverstein, Scandal, The Adolescents, Superman Is Dead, Endank Soekamti and many more!
In 2016, the band released an EP titled ‘Reckless Youth’. With six cuts of scuzzy punk, the record is a true calling to all fans of Punk in its varied forms. Drawing from the early vigor of Blink 182 and the raw power of Nirvana, marinated with a hint of The Subways, this EP is destined to break the band to the next level. ‘Reckless Youth’ already won a prize from the SACEM (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music), and allowed the band to get the award of “Artist & Album of the Year 2017” from OÜI FM (the biggest rock radio in France).
The band is now back with a music video for the track ‘Another Chance’. A song taken from the band’s latest EP, ‘Reckless Youth’. On this release, frontman Anthony CAUVIN comments:
“The song is about not losing your time waiting for another chance, whenever you just missed an opportunity. Instead of wasting time hoping for another chance to happen, you should just have fun!”. While talking about the music video, Anthony adds: “During our last tour in Asia, one of the brands endorsing us (Unkilled) offered us to shoot a music video in studio. As we also had a lot of tour footage, we have decided to combine both to make the video more alive, more fun and more real.”
With new releases, tours and collaborations in the making, this looks like another exciting year for The Shapers!
