Starting the weekend with a brand new interview with the Spanish pop-punks Skyline Leeway. Check out the full interview below!
Hello Skyline Leeway! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. Would you mind introducing your band to our readers?
Skyline Leeway is a 5 piece, female fronted, pop punk / alternative band from Madrid (Spain) since 2017. We are Irene (vocals), Ren (guitars), Aryu (guitars), Lukke (bass) and Vic (drums). We started uploading Covers on Youtube that gain some popularity by being part of american label We Are Triumphant’s “Got You Covered” recopilatory.
Now debuting on Spotify’s “All New Rock” playlist with our first single “Rooms”. We’d say our music feels as a hug between pop and metal.
What’s your point of view on the Spanish pop-punk scene?
There aren’t as many pop punk bands now as it used to, but we’d love to grow with them together. We encourage people to support their local artist friends!
You’ve just unveiled your debut EP ‘Stages’. How long have you worked on this release?
“Stages” has been part of us for over a year and a half, now it’s yours. Take care of our baby! We’ve worked so hard on it along with our producer Diego Teksuo and his cats in Oviedo (Spain). We always say that we’d repeat the whole week we spent there all over again.
Where did you find your inspiration for this EP?
This EP shares 5 different stories coming from our personal experiences that we feel people could relate to them as much as we do. There’s at least a song for each person, we invite people to listen to it and discover theirs.
If you had to pick one song that, according to you, best reflects the spirit of ‘Stages’… Which one would it be and why?
“Stages”, it gives name to the EP because it has a strong message to “Stand for what YOU are”.
The last words are for you. If you have any other projects in the making, here’s your chance to talk about it!
We have a concert coming in Madrid on January 26th! There’s also a big surprise ahead but our mouths are shut! Until then mmm stream “Stages”!
Thanks so much Distrolution for giving us a spot to spread our music!
