UK rockers The Crooked 45 have recently released their second ever single, in the form of “Voices on the Radio”. Vocalist Alex Green took some free time to answer a couple of questions for us. Check out what we talked about below!
Hello Alex! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. Would you mind introducing your band to our readers?
We are The Crooked 45 a 3-piece deluxe chicken combo from Reading…. I would say we are more like a pack of linda mccartney sausages but they’ve really gone off.
Alex Green, Sam C Harris and James Harris.
From your own POV, how would you describe the UK rock scene?
I think there are some good DIY bands that have their own sounds.
In the same breath there seems to be a little bit of an 80’s punk rebirth happening.
You’ve recently released a new single titled “Voices on the Radio”. Would you mind introducing this song to our readers? What’s the story behind it?
In the song ‘Voices on the radio’ we discuss the state of the media in the western world.
Whilst people are distracted by Celebrities and reality TV shows the west are causing atrocities across parts of the globe for financial gain.
The leaders of the western world use the media as a mouth pieces for politicians often to incite a ‘culture of fear’ which then can be used to get the public’s support and backing for these atrocities.
This single comes along with a music video. How was the shooting experience?
Sam, the drummer, directed it. But it was shot by Simon Stolland who is an award winning director.
It was a bit of a nightmare tbh and cold BUT we are happy with the final product.
Do you currently have any other projects in the making?
We are going to release an EP BUT we are also thinking of putting money behind a range of The Crooked 45 eye glass repair kits… Think they will sell well?
I saw that you guys are also playing a lot of shows. Do you feel any pressure before going on stage? If yes, how do you manage it?
We have started to get the shows coming in although we have only played two to date which were both busy… buzzing about that. We have all been in previous acts so it isn’t are first rodeo but I think it is always good to have some nerves before a show personally.
The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance!
Check out Voices on the radio out now on all platforms and we hope to see you at some shows.
Thanks for your time!
